New Chef in Town

Came home from a long day's work to find the kitchen smelling of cooking! Mr.C had had a busy day studying, buying, preping and cooking dinner.... And of course cleaning after it. Usually it's my job cooking and his job cleaning, but I kinda took advantage of the situation and played the  'oh i've had a hard day's work, so tired'... card :P

And on the menu: roasted carrots, herby breadcrumbed lemon salmon, chili broccoli with prawns and roasted funny looking potatoes which were so crispy n tasty! Usually when I make roast carrots I always cut them up into chunks but they always end up shrinking and not being enough to go around, but Mr.C roasted them whole. Thought it was a great idea and I might have to rob it!

Result:

Top notch. My sous chef had turned into head chef for the night. Absolutely YUM.Was well impressed, especially with the prawns, which I thought would have been overdone (considering Mr. C cooks probably twice a year, excluding sausages, rashers and scrambled eggs) but no they were perfect! Well done Mr.C. I might be hearing 'GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN' screamed at me a bit more from now on :P

Indie Spice

Favourite Indian restaurant of all time, Indie Spice. Now it's become our favourite Indian restaurant for a great lunch deal of all time. Only 8.95 for a starter, main and fast friendly service. Even in recession times we can still treat ourselves to a great bite! Yay! The second you enter the restaurant your nose is filled with great smells of spices. Amazing smells which make you happy you chose this place for lunch.

As usual I ordered the Lamb Korma and Mr. C ordered the Lamb Achari, extra hot, no onions! And for starters I went for the Vegetable Pakora and Mr. C ordered the Sheek Kebab. (Didn't get a photo of the Sheek Kebab, was so hungry I kinda A) forgot and B) didn't bother, I was so hungry I just wanted to get stuck in)

The mains were the highlight. Just the right amount was served. The korma lived up  to its standard, great creamy, almondy flavour with tender pieces of lamb. Oh I'm drooling here just thinking about it!

Mr. C's achari couldn't have been better. Extra hot with no onions.

And of course how could we have an Indian meal without my favourite Garlic Naan! It was soooooooo  good, a nice change from the soggy soft naan you get from a delivery. The base was so crispy. So good.

10 out of 10. Amazing lunch. Was pretty much lunch and dinner for the day. Stuffed and happy leaving the restaurant. See you again soon!
